LCA expert Estelle Marin’s interview on her experience in the PEDMED project.

Ms. Marin works as a LCA expert at CRITT, a technical center at the service of companies in the agro-food industry, located in the Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur region in the south east of France. CRITT, Agrofood Regional Innovation and technology Transfer center, participates to the PEFMED project as a technical partner. Its task  is to conduct the  environmental and socio-economic studies necessary to calculate the impact of the case studies products, to try and determine where there may be space for improvement.

“Our mission is to calculate the environmental impacts of the product from the study of the product itself to the end of the life cycle of the packaging” says ms. Marin “then we put all that data into a software program that automatically processes it”. The benefits of these assessments are indeed of different degrees and they allow the companies to consolidate elements already implemented but also provide ideas for future development and investments.
