In the era of an higher environmental responsibility, European consumers want greener products and transparent information about the sustainability of the supply chain.
The PEF methodology let providing consumers with clear and comparable information about the environmental standards owned by the most used agrofood products that we find on our tables. PEFMED – one of the modular projects of the Green Growth community – is now in testing how such methodology, implemented over a pool of product groups, is consistent with the production requirements in different Mediterranean Countries. At the end of the day, PEFMED supports Mediterranean agrofood companies to be more sustainable and competitive in the market.
